On April 18, Nutrition without Borders in collaboration with the Official College of Nurses of Barcelona presented the photography exhibition “ Where life begins again ” within the framework of a series of solidarity days, where we had the honor of presenting the CREN project.
We invite you all to visit the photographic exhibition that will be on display at the facilities of the Official College of Nurses of Barcelona until May 4. You will be able to meet the team that works at the Centre for Recovery and Nutritional Education for Mothers and Children (CREN) in Basse (Rep. of Gambia), learn about the activities carried out within the framework of the project and see the day-to-day life of the centre and its users. This exhibition allows us to get closer to the reality of the country and to learn more about the problems that arise in the field.
The title of the exhibition “ Where life begins again ” refers to the rebirth of the children who are treated at the CREN. Most of the children who arrive at the Centre have serious nutritional problems related to severe acute malnutrition. Once they arrive at the CREN, they are given treatment to alleviate malnutrition and regain weight to maintain optimal health. The child’s treatment lasts about fifteen days at the Centre, where the mother is also given training to promote food security, in order to subsequently carry out nutritional monitoring in their communities.
At NSF we believe that these images will help you better understand and publicize the work we are doing, so we invite you all to participate in this exhibition.
NSF would like to thank the cooperation department of the Official College of Nurses of Barcelona for their support and collaboration.
