Strategic Food Plan in Catalonia (PEAC)
Exhibition
We reduce waste by promoting sustainable food environments

The project, titled "We Reduce Waste by Promoting Sustainable Food Environments," has one of its central elements of dissemination in the exhibition now being presented, which focuses on six thematic axes:

• Guaranteeing the right to healthy food

• Valuing local food

• Preventing food waste and utilizing surpluses

• Distributing food with social and environmental value

• Healthy, sustainable, and intercultural food

• Combating food vulnerability

In the framework of twenty years of commitment to the right to food, Nutrición sin Fronteras, with the collaboration of Conreu Sereny, we have held a very special event in Sant Jeroni de la Murtra - Badalona (North Barcelona), on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

This initiative has been carried out with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Over the course of two hours we have shared the exhibition, presentations, workshops, the agroecological garden, an exchange of knowledge and resistance for the right to healthy, sustainable, diverse food, prevention of loss and waste.

This event is part of the social action project in Catalonia in which Nutrición sin Fronteras promotes the right to food and contributes to the reduction of nutritional inequalities in accordance with human rights.

We want to strengthen urban and peri-urban change processes that allow progress in an agenda that promotes the right to adequate food for all citizens in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, and, therefore, we promote food reuse initiatives to allocate collective surpluses in vulnerable situations and at the same time avoid food waste and the CO2 emissions that arise and cause the climate crisis.

We are aware that it is necessary to increase the awareness and involvement of citizens in an innovative and networked way so that it becomes a collective city effort that incorporates new actors to generate positive and sustainable changes to improve the health of the planet.

This initiative is part of the impetus of the European program "FOOD CLICK" which works to promote the delivery of healthy food to the most disadvantaged neighborhoods, more specifically in the north of Barcelona it is promoted around the district of Fondo de Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
