MISSION VISION

Nutrition Without Borders mission is to contribute to reducing nutritional inequalities worldwide based on human rights, through cooperation, education, and training. We promote balanced use of food resources and solidarity among peoples, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

WE ARE AN NGO THAT WORKS TO ERADICATE MALNUTRITION IN THE WORLD
FOOD
IS A UNIVERSAL RIGHT

Nutrition Without Borders is a leading organization in nutritional interventions, integrating an innovative approach focused on food security, food sovereignty, and sustainability of food systems. We promote initiatives for optimal resource management while respecting the environment.

As an organization, we aspire to achieve a world where food is guaranteed as a universal right. We work to reduce malnutrition worldwide through action and ethical commitment to the most disadvantaged people, guiding our development and growth.

We work on 10 Sustainable Development Goals.

GENDER PERSPECTIVE

We work by incorporating a gender perspective into all our organization's actions, recognizing that the feminization of poverty is a global reality. Therefore, through our projects, we promote alternatives to help women escape conditions of vulnerability. This has a positive impact on the entire family and their environment.

REDUCTION OF SOCIAL INEQUALITIES

Inequality is the root cause of most injustices worldwide. For this reason, the task of transforming this reality must prioritize efforts to reduce inequalities in order to achieve dignified conditions for everyone.

TRAINING AND RESEARCH

Analysis, research, and development of initiatives to obtain real data with the aim of gaining a comprehensive perspective on the groups with whom we work (data collection, conducting surveys, etc.). The organization also participates in talks and discussions to raise awareness about issues that encompass our work: food security, climate refugees, gender equity, etc.

FOOD SUSTAINABILITY

We believe that food systems must be committed to the environment, and that the use of food resources is crucial in the fight against malnutrition and to mitigate climate change.

ā€‹

While developing countries lack access to food resources, developed countries waste one-third of the food produced worldwide.

HISTORY

Nutrition Without Borders was founded by a multidisciplinary group of healthcare and social professionals and academics with the purpose of addressing global malnutrition. The organization began its work under the auspices of the Spanish Society of Community Nutrition (SENC) and the UNESCO Chair on Research, Planning, and Development of Health Systems at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). Its mission is to respond to current nutritional needs within the realm of public health.
