Nutritional Intervention for the Piecitos Colorados Program

The Prosegur Foundation, a non-profit organization, helps build a more supportive society with fewer inequalities. Piecitos Colorados is the comprehensive program that the Prosegur Group has launched in the Latin American countries where it is present.

This project aims to become a driving force for progress in all the communities where it is implemented, using the school as an entity that promotes change and development.

Nutrition Without Borders is the entity responsible for carrying out the nutritional intervention for the Piecitos Colorados Program of the Prosegur Foundation. The objective of the proposal is to improve the nutritional status of the boys and girls in the schools participating in the program. These schools are located in rural areas with very limited economic resources and often face family disintegration, low school enrollment, and children engaged in domestic work and street vending.

NSF's work involves preparing and publishing a Didactic Guide aimed at the teachers of the Piecitos Colorados schools to assist them in educating students and their families on hygiene, balanced nutrition, and food safety. This document also aims to acquaint the teaching staff with the necessary methodology to correctly conduct nutritional surveys and take the students' height and weight measurements (anthropometric measurements).
