Last February we signed a collaboration agreement with Salle Bonanova to donate its surplus food to Nutrición Sin Fronteras. From the very beginning, the entire school management team and kitchen staff showed a magnificent commitment to both reducing food waste and being able to allocate this food to social entities that care for people in vulnerable situations.
With this new collaboration, we only needed to find the right social entity to receive and manage all this food that Salle Bonanova wanted to provide us. This is where the Fundació per a l'Esport i l'Educació de Barcelona (FEEB) came into being , an entity with more than 20 years of history that uses sport and leisure as educational tools, doing great work with different projects such as “Temps de Joc”, which responds to the food, educational and leisure needs of children aged 5 to 12.
Thus, during all these months we have been able to avoid wasting more than 800 kg of food, which has served to reinforce the FEEB educational project.
We would therefore like to thank Salle Bonanova for its social commitment, but also for doing so with a strong desire to reduce the ecological footprint. These first months of collaboration have served to save more than 3000 kg of CO₂ , but also to provide more than 1,700 meals to the FEEB.
Finally, we would like to congratulate the FEEB for the great educational work they do, since they occupy a very important space in caring for children. For us, it is a pride to be able to join forces with our common goal of reducing nutritional inequalities.
